IGP Jammu has miserably failed to maintain the sanctity of transfer policy
While delivering sermons of transparency in transfer policy, incumbent Inspector General (IGP) of Police Jammu has apparently failed to fiddle with his own personal section.
It appears that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu has miserably failed to maintain the sanctity of transfer policy after most of the staff posted in his personal section were reported to be overstaying at the same place since long.
“Different IGsP have assumed the post in past couple of years, but none of them could fiddle with staff of the personal section, who are already enjoying over stay,” said sources adding that same IGsP have been claiming to follow the precedence of transparent transfers.
If sources are to be believed, scores of Inspector Generals of Police (IGsP) came and go, but the lower staff of the personal section of the IGP Jammu remained untouched.
“If any of them has ever been transferred, they immediately either managed modification of the order or got themselves back at same place within shortest possible time,” said sources, adding “The lower staff of the Personal Section of the IGP Jammu is so influential that despite enjoying overstay, they keep influencing their transfer orders every time, thus showing down thumb to the already laid down transfer policy of the department”.
Sources privy to the Police Department claimed that there is only one rule in the police department that is official without godfather is prone to transfers, while as others are always immune to these policies. Sources further claimed that there are so many police officers including Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors who have served their entire service in their choicest districts.
“Some Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors have spent most of their stay in their choicest districts and they greased the palms of some of the touts for this purpose”, said sources adding that these officials have such deep rooted nexus in the Police Headquarter (PHQ) as after every two to three years they manage their transfer in other Range for some months and again came back to their choicest districts.
One of the aggrieved police officer said that there is no difference which political party is ruling the state or imposition of Governor rule in the state as the blue-eyed police officials remain stick to their choicest postings and these blue-eyed officials are actually running the police department not the seniors officials who (senior officials) never dare to transfer them at their own will.
