The Divisional status for Ladakh has given two-way temptation for the political parties for opinionated allegories cooking in the back.
Immediately after Governor Satya Pal Malik signalled green for Divisional status for Ladakh , the saffron brigade played it in front foot eulogizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP for doing the honour for the Himalayan region . Though Kargil cried hoarse, but for the political stunt executed by the BJP, it started reflecting on state’s local banners with PM Modi sporting a broad smile and the local leaders adjusting their pictures with him as heroes to have done the ultra mundane.
Further, whether the Governor of the state which is under the President’s rule enjoys the powers to execute such decision can be a long driven debate, but for the regional parties like National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party, the issue has become their political hot bed.
Omar Abdullah even tweeted for Divisional statuses for Chenab Valley and Pir Panjal , if voted to power , PDP also joined in chorus to do the ‘needful’ in breaking entire state in Divisions , if in government .
Amid all this hoopla, a commoner standing in a street envisions a larger and broader perspective of such twists in the tale as state assembly time-bound elections he negates, and bats for parliamentary polls only in J&K. His outlook lays to rest all grapevines about poll prospects of the state as decision of Divisional status to Ladakh, he does not seems to have come out of blue only, and that too after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Ladakh a couple of days earlier .
The emerging verity after Ladakh Division amply hints towards the centre’s mindset to hold on the state elections for time being after the Parliamentary polls to see another rising of Modi as Prime Minister 2019-2024 which can deliver uninterrupted political empowerment to state.
Might the second NDA term envisages a complete rehash of Jammu and Kashmir politically, socially and economically for a better and brighter future, creation of Ladakh Divison, being the first step towards releasing Kashmir hegemony from the Himalayan region.
Though people of Jammu may get enlightened a bit late on this account, but for the privileged segment of Kashmir elite, it has understood the insight polity of such developments which are all likely to usher Jammu and Kashmir into new avatar.
